About Config
XECUTE Config is the setup and administration tool for XECUTE. It’s where you define the structure, inputs, and system connections that power your short-term planning environment. While most users work in the Client to build and publish schedules, Config is where you prepare the environment those schedules run in.
Using Config
Config is used to:
-
Define materials, activities, and resources
-
Set up calendars and site boundaries
-
Load geological data like block models and grade control
-
Configure haulage paths and processing facilities
-
Connect XECUTE to external systems (e.g. FMS, ERP)
-
Manage how material flows through the site
-
Administer site instances and services
Functional areas
-
System Configuration: Global elements and settings that apply across all sites. This includes definitions for materials, rosters, activities, and resources that can be reused across different planning environments.
-
Site Configuration: Controls the settings and inputs for the currently open site. This includes calendars, topography, block models, haulage models, and data streams that reflect the site's operational context.
-
Site Management: Used to create, delete, or open sites – and to configure how material flows through the site using the material flow diagram and related properties.
Role of Config vs Client
In XECUTE, Config is used to set the stage. It defines the structure, inputs, and system connections that underpin the planning environment. Client, on the other hand, is where planners interact with the live model, build schedules, and publish plans and reports based on the setup defined in Config.
Who uses Config
Typically, advanced users use Config. Most end users work in Client, rolling forward existing plans and making updates based on operational changes.
When should you use Config?
Use Config when you need to:
-
Set up a new site or modify an existing one
-
Load or update geological and spatial data
-
Change how material flows through the site
-
Connect XECUTE to external systems
-
Define or adjust planning calendars and resources
